The goal of the BPF is to create a fixation point in a bone part to fixate a third part upon. The third part can be another bone part or an external fixation part.
Example 1:
The BPF is fixated in the pedicle on the BPF a mono or poly head can be fixated to receive a rod.The rod connects different BPF’s for instance to correct scoliose.
Example 2:
The BPF connects two different bone parts by fixating in one bone part and tightens the other bone part in the direction of the first bone part that holds the BPF.
